New Members

The Club has a current playing membership of seventy men and fifty ladies plus a social membership of sixty consisting mainly of former bowlers who wish to keep in touch with their colleagues. Many of the members have evolved through the various stages of beginner, roller-up, club events, club competitions, friendly matches, competitive matches and finally county badge competitions.

There is a place for new members of all levels of experience so why not contact the Club Secretary and discuss how you would fit into the structure of a friendly and welcoming group whose main objective is enjoyment at what ever level of skill you are.

Absolute beginners will be invited to attend a short induction training course run by a County qualified coach. All course equipment and footwear will be provided free of charge and an unbiased assessment of your capabilities will be given.

Separate courses are arranged for junior beginners on Saturday mornings which parents/guardians are welcome to attend. (Parental or guardian agreement is necessary before course commences)

Newcomers with prior experience will be assessed by the coach or a senior officer of the Club in order that a handicap rating may be awarded.

If  you wish to learn more about the history and rules of the game log on to the English Bowling Association website www.bowlsengland.com.  If you want to find out more about a pleasant way of spending your spare time ring the Club Secretary or visit the Green and introduce yourself to any of the members.
